Is your Gift Voucher Shop February ready?
A New Year, a brand new content diary. With the Christmas holidays done and dusted it's time to get to know 2021. Beginning, of course, with some fresh new content.
Here are our top tips to get your shop ready for February.
1. Refresh your content.
When it comes to content creation it really pays to plan in advance. There's no such thing as a content fairy, this one's on you! Keep your content relevant to your customers, timely and - most importantly - engaging.
Don't be afraid to keep it simple. Right now people are looking to social media for assistance as well as aspiration. Friendly messages, calming imagery, and 'stay at home' activities and recipes have proved popular.
2. Create a Valentine’s gift voucher category.
You are able to create an unlimited amount of categories within your shop, so you can adapt your offering throughout the year. Be sure to create a seasonal Valentine's category and package up some of your existing vouchers for Valentines.
Then set the category to ‘featured’ which will display it on your shop's home page.
3. Create a promotional code or hidden vouchers
Offer your loyal returning guests a deal or promotion. Reaching out will make them feel special and may even give them a reason to return.
Simply set up a promotional code or a hidden voucher and email the link or code to all those 5* guests!
4. Create a Takeaway gift voucher category
With the nation in its third lockdown, many businesses have introduced takeaways with great success. If you offer takeaway afternoon teas or fine dining, sell gift vouchers for these experiences. That way people can easily gift their loved ones a bit of lockdown luxury.
5. Get on board the staycation trend
Last year saw a huge rise in people taking UK breaks and staycations. This looks like a trend that is here to stay. People are locked down but looking to explore the UK when allowed. Make sure you're selling the kind of staycation experiences they can look forward to now and enjoy later.
6. Increase awareness of your vouchers
Promote your voucher shop far and wide. Target previous guests, lookalikes and anyone that has expressed an interest in your venue. Do this via your social channels and email newsletters or with a downloadable gift guide on your website.
7. Help your customers make a hint
Encourage your guests to share your email/social post/offer with a loved one. Sometimes all that is needed is a gentle hint!
8. Promote Gift Vouchers in-house
When it comes to promotion, your venue is your greatest asset. The number of clients that have vouchers shops but do not actively promote in-house is phenomenal! Now is the perfect time to change this. A simple poster, button badge, an in-room postcard or even a message on your menu/specials board, these could all make a sale! Don’t assume everyone knows you sell gift vouchers.
